International Piano Competition
Conditions
- Changes to the repertoire presented by the contestant in the application form will be accepted no later than Friday, August 1, 2025. No changes will be accepted to the Prelude and Fugue by J. S. Bach, nor to the Sonata that were presented in the Preliminary stage. The participant must notify the organizing committee via email, with the final complete repertoire. No changes will be accepted after this date.
- Pianos will be available for all contestants to practice for 2 or 3 hours per day, depending on the stage in which they are participating.
- The Competition stages will be performed on a Yamaha CFX grand piano.
- Before each stage, there will be limited time to try the piano on which the contestant will perform.
- The competition stages of the Contest will take place at the "Felipe Carrillo Puerto" Theater and entry will be free for the general public. The Theater is located at Calle 60 No. 491-A between 57 and 59, Col. Centro, CP 97000, Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico.
- The participation draw, the Inauguration, and the Grand Opening Concert will take place on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at 8:00 PM (venue to be defined), so it is essential that all participants are present in Mérida from Thursday, November 27.
The Grand Final of the Competition with the Yucatán Symphony Orchestra will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 8:00 PM (venue to be defined).
The Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony of the Competition will take place the following day, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 8:00 PM (venue to be defined), and all participants must be present.
- The organizing committee reserves the right to record the different sessions of the Competition, as well as broadcast them through various media. Video recording and photography by individuals are not allowed during the competition.
- The Jury will be composed of prominent pianists at the national and international level, whose names will be announced later.
- If any contestant is a student of any member of the jury, they will refrain from evaluating them.
- The opinion and evaluation of the Jury will be final.
- Circumstances not foreseen in this call and/or during the Competition will be resolved by the organizing committee, whose decision will be final.
