8th "José Jacinto Cuevas" Yamaha International Piano Competition
The “José Jacinto Cuevas” Competition was founded in 2008 in honor of the great legacy of Mr. Jose Jacinto Cuevas in an effort to try and follow in his footsteps, just as the great musicians of the state of Yucatan have done and keep doing. The main idea is to give young mexican pianists opportunities to compete and not only learn more about their personal level, but also compare it with their colleagues from all around Mexico and Latin America.
The first edition took place in the City of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, in the year 2008, and since than has been held in the years 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2021.
The eighth edition of the Competition took place from November 23rd to December 2nd 2023.
